CIAS launches new microwave barrier for perimeter protection

Italian perimeter protection specialist CIAS Elettronica has launched the ERMO 482XPRO 3.0 microwave barrier, which is said to improve on the company’s flagship model used for the perimeter protection of critical infrastructure, for example in airports and nuclear power plants, all over the world.

CIAS says that, thanks to a parabolic antenna able to generate a signal of excellent quality, the barrier can reach out up to 500m range with extended allowance. Ermo 482X pro 3.0 is an IP-READY & PoE product.

Improvements on the previous model include more powerful microprocessor enhancing, along with Fuzzy Logic analysis, for better performances both in terms of detection and of discrimination of false alarms (POD 99% – FAR 1/unit/year). It also features an optimized circuit, a temperature range between -35°C and + 70°C and a 6-year warranty.

It conforms to fully sustainable manufacturing and is RoHS certified, has a Smart Battery Test function with automatic switching-off in case of fault or exhaustion and gives a warning before expiration in case of internal battery exhaustion.
