Crimestoppers and Post Office renew partnership

Crimestoppers and Post Office renew partnership after successful year of crime fighting

The independent charity Crimestoppers and Post Office Limited have announced they will continue to work in partnership following several successful crime-fighting campaigns.
The two organisations first joined together in September 2013 for a pilot campaign to crack down on robberies against cash in transit vans in the West Midlands.

The campaign, called ‘We’re on their tail’, was promoted across the region and the partnership offered a reward of up to £25,000 for any information which led to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
As a result of widespread publicity, police were able to arrest several key individuals involved in the crime.

Following the huge success, Crimestoppers officially partnered with the Post Office in May 2014 to tackle a wider variety of crimes that can happen in branch – from armed robbery to theft and assault.
Three more campaigns, called ‘Stamping Out Crime’ were launched in Manchester, Liverpool and London and Crimestoppers received a number of pieces of information relating to several incidents.
Now, a year after the partnership was officially announced, Crimestoppers and Post Office Limited have renewed their partnership to continue crime fighting for another year.
Rodger Holden, Director of Business Development for Crimestoppers, said: “The Post Office is at the heart of the community and, like Crimestoppers, they want to make the community a safer place for everyone.

“Together we have tackled some incredibly serious crimes and have had some excellent results.

“We have now renewed our partnership in order to continue this great work across the UK.”

Rob King, Senior Security Manager for the Post Office Limited, said: “We are very pleased to be continuing our partnership with Crimestoppers to prevent crime and loss across many parts of the UK.
“The Post Office is responsible for providing products and services right at the very heart of the community and it is vital that our customers can rely on these services to be maintained.
“We have a duty to keep customers and staff safe so are pleased to be part of a partnership to produce an effective crime prevention campaign.”
