Dell OEM Solutions partners with Milestone Systems

Dell OEM Solutions has partnered with Milestone to introduce a range of new ‘plug and play’ solutions for the surveillance market. These solutions are available through ADI, can support 8, 16, 26 and 48 cameras and come complete with Milestone XProtect® and Microsoft Embedded licenses.

As the security and surveillance industry is moving from Analog installations to IP installations, customers have started to look for guidance on what hardware to use as part of their CCTV solutions. The industry is discovering the benefits of pre-packaged solutions where the hardware has an optimized configuration and the required software is pre-installed. With the increasing use of IP Technology, the industry is looking for guidance on hardware specifications tested with leading VMS Platform to ensure configurations are tested and benchmarked for cost efficiency. Additionally, sourcing the operating system, downloading, installing and configuring the VMS Software has become more time consuming.

The new solutions from Dell OEM Solutions and Milestone remove the need to source the different elements from different vendors, meeting the demand for lower cost, pre-installed, ‘plug and play’ solutions that benefit from Dell hardware and Milestone software. By installing the bundles, installers and customers benefit from cost savings; installers from a time perspective, no longer needing to install and configure separate elements, and customers from stress testing that is carried out in a lab environment to optimize the configurations.

For installations that require a configuration larger than the ‘Plug and Play’ solutions, with high camera counts and frame rates, and longer retention times, Dell OEM Solution provides solutions that can scale to the customer’s requirements. The design and testing of these custom solutions can be done utilizing Dell’s POC facilities in their network of Global Solution Centres. Higher camera count configurations can cover video surveillance requirements for large facilities, municipalities or cities. The Dell Solution Centres have the expertise and scale to test very large environments and build cost effective enterprise-grade solutions using Dell’s award winning range of servers, storage and networking products.
