Gallagher acknowledged at 2021 CyberSecured Awards

Global security manufacturer, Gallagher, have been recognised in the 2021 CyberSecured Awards as a winner in the Access Control category for their MIFARE DESFire Key Migration Enhancement.

The US-based CyberSecured Awards honour the outstanding product development achievements of manufacturers whose technology is considered particularly noteworthy in the transformation of cybersecurity. Designed in response to the growing sophistication of cyber-attacks upon credential security, Gallagher’s MIFARE DESFire Key Migration Enhancement helps organisations mitigate the
risk of card-cloning or tampering, through improved management of security key lifecycles.

This intelligent enhancement allows for cardholder credentials to be silently updated with newly defined site-specific keys for a secure and seamless cardholder experience. “We are thrilled to see our commitment to the cyber protection of physical security being recognised once again,” said Steve Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Gallagher. “A common weakness in access control systems is the credential technology, so it’s vital that we remain vigilant in communicating best practice recommendations to ensure our customers have the knowledge and tools necessary to keep their sites secure.

“As security technology evolves, new weaknesses can emerge, therefore it’s important we stay ahead of the curve. This is what led us to develop the MIFARE DESFire Key Migration Enhancement, to give our customers an easy way to securely migrate access control keys across their site.”

As part of their commitment to cybersecurity, Gallagher’s security solutions are fully authenticated and encrypted to meet global standards, including the FIPS-201 standards in the United States, Type 1A in Australia, and the UK Centre for Protection of National Infrastructure’s CAPSS (Cyber Assurance of Physical Security Systems) standard.

In 2021 alone, Gallagher’s security solutions were recognised in six US award programs across cybersecurity, government security, threat/risk management, and homeland security.
