Proximity cards are used throughout the world to control the access to restricted areas but there are many limitations to using these that can make an expensive high tech system redundant.
A prime example is card cloning; this can be carried out easily when in the vicinity of a person that has a card worn around their neck or clipped to a belt. All data can be captured from the card at a close distance allowing it to be copied onto a blank proximity card and used to gain access. Biocard8 is different. Only the assigned users can activate the device with their fingerprint and without that the card is inactive and therefore the data cannot be copied or accessed.
