Dean has a vast array of knowledge that he can bring to this new position, having worked, extensively, in the UK fire and security industry for over 24 years. Looking in more detail at the previous positions held by Dean, both from a management and engineering perspective, these range from senior engineer and engineering manager to, most recently, general manager. Significantly, all of these roles were held in businesses focused, primarily, on the installation of fire and security systems. This installation background has given Dean an invaluable insight, from a customer perspective, into Elmdene’s industry-leading solutions and, in fact, he has been a consistent user of Elmdene’s PSUs (Power Supply Units) throughout his career. Also being demonstrated on-stand will be the Merlin MGD-S an intelligent acoustic graffiti detector which secured a Security Industry Award at last year’s event. With Elmdene reporting record demand for energy-friendly switch mode PSUs, the company is planning to significantly extend its portfolio with the launch of the latest EN2 and EN3 products at IFSEC 2012. The new PSUs are designed to supersede older linear models while retaining the functionality that made the previous variants so popular. The new market-leading features allow Rapier range models to comply with the pivotal EN50131-4:2009 Grade 3 and 4 standard, while also delivering a smarter appearance, ease of installation and fast track fault-finding. The high quality Rapier range of sounders is now fitted with a diagnostic LED that automatically flashes to indicate any problems with the device.
