IDIS are set to take advantage of IFSEC 2014 to get the industry talking about its DirectIP solutions. Jamie Barnfield, Senior Sales Manager, IDIS, has spoken exclusively to SecurityNewsDesk.com about why IFSEC is the ideal platform to reach the security indutry’s major players.
Why is IFSEC so successful?
It’s the only event, certainly here in the UK, which brings the entire security buying chain under one roof. As a manufacturer, that’s incredibly important as we can meet distributors, integrators as well as end users. It’s really become one of the “must attend” events of the security calendar and a great place to catch up with industry peers. The UBM team do a great job promoting IFSEC, so there’s always anticipation in the weeks building up to the show and even more so this year, with the move to London.
Why are IDIS exhibiting and how have previous years been beneficial?
Definitely to showcase our DirectIP solution suite and get people talking and interested in IDIS. It’s a truly global show, last year we met with installers and end users from across mainland Europe, the Middle East and Asia as well as the UK – the interest was huge. The world’s security trade press gather at IFSEC, so it’s also a great place to launch our new offerings to the press and meet with our media partners.
A previously unknown brand, we launched DirectIP and created a real buzz at the show last year, so we’re really excited to be returning with an extended product line up, some strategic partnerships in place and significant wins under our belts. We generated a solid number of sales enquiries in 2013 so from a sales perspective I’m hoping for more of the same.
What does IFSEC have to offer the industry as a whole?
It’s a great place for visitors to see advancements in technology with some of the largest global security companies through to specialist technology vendors exhibiting. Security is a serious business throughout the year – and the buzz of the show provides a relaxed yet dynamic atmosphere for networking. The education program is an opportunity for visitors to gain new insights and knowledge. You also have the whole Protection Management series under one roof, so there’s plenty for those with a wider interest in facilities and health and safety on offer.
What do you think the move to London will do for IFSEC? Do you think it will have a positive or negative effect?
I’m a Londoner and to me London is the greatest city on earth, so of course I’m delighted IFSEC has moved to the capital! The majority of our UK partners are based in the south east so it’s closer for them to visit and the public transport network offers more alternatives to driving compared to the NEC. City Airport is also on the doorstep, so I’m hoping to see a bigger European audience at the show this year. The fact that some key business districts are also a stone’s throw, should mean an increase in end user visitors. London provides an inexhaustible range of evening entertainment options, and the locality of good pubs, bars and restaurants should never be underestimated!
What are you showcasing this year?
We will bring visitors to IFSEC the ultimate surveillance experience with the introduction of our range of Ultra High-Definition (UHD) monitors and cameras to the DirectIP solution suite. With four times the resolution and pixels of full-HD, we will demonstrate unsurpassed picture quality in 4K resolution and the most comprehensive one-stop-shop surveillance solution in the market today.
The range of UHD and full-HD monitors, designed specifically for security applications, extends the DirectIP one-stop-shop philosophy, while our new 4k cameras build on our signature high-performance.
What are you looking forward to the most?
The whole IDIS team comes together for IFSEC, from across Europe and our headquarters in Korea. We’re a young, vibrant company that is innovative and hardworking yet we also have fun, so I’m looking forward to that exhibition camaraderie as well as networking with industry peers and customers.
What I’m really excited about though is launching the new UHD line up. It will bring the ultimate home cinema experience to surveillance. Who can’t get excited about that sort of technology and performance, especially as we’ll launch in the greatest city on earth!
