Mike Reddington explains why the future is exciting for Videcon

Following the news that Videcon has appointed Mike Reddington, former European General Manager of ADI, as Managing Director for the company, we’ve been getting to know Mike and learning what we can expect from Videcon after the shake up.

What attracted you to the role with Videcon?
Videcon is a privately owned company who are dynamic and responsive to the market developments and it’s customers needs. It has a very good product range, positive reputation and is committed to investing in products and resources to deliver exceptional service to its customers. I also like the culture of the business. I believe there is a significant opportunity for growth and believe I can make a positive contribution to the business to achieve this.

What’s your vision for Videcon as MD?
My vision is to take what is a good company and working with the team make it into a great company delivering great products, great Service with great Customers

How will your experience with ADI affect how you approach this new challenge?
My previous European distribution market and product experience will enable me to identify the trends in the market that could/will impact our and our customers business. This will enable us to ensure we are continually developing our products and services to deliver great products and services to our existing and new customers.

What implications do you think the Management Buy Out (MBO) will have on the company and its customers?
The MBO will have a very positive impact on the business providing continued investment in its product ranges, employees and resources so it will continue to deliver an exceptional portfolio of products and services. This is a very exciting time for Videcon and it’s customers and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.

What can we expect from Videcon as we approach the second half of 2015?
The second half of 2015 is a really exciting time for the business which will see Videcon launch a number of new products further developing it’s Analogue, IP and HD offering and bringing enhanced product performance and value to our existing and new customer’s

What do you think are the key issues or trends facing the surveillance market at the moment and how do you think Videcon is positioned to answer them?
We are seeing a significant migration and increase in demand for IP products and solutions which deliver higher quality and evidential CCTV images. Whilst this is a good thing it is also stimulating a requirement for increased knowledge and skills for both sales and engineering personnel working in the industry. We at Videcon clearly recognise this and have dedicated resources to providing training to both our sales and technical teams and also to our customers. We hold regular IP training courses for our customers sales and engineering staff with very positive feedback from all customers who attend. As a result we are frequently over subscribed for these course and have now increased the number of courses we have scheduled to cope with this demand. If any of our existing or new customers are interested in attending one of our IP training courses please contact our internal sales team on Tel 01924 52800 to book a place as soon as possible as these courses fill up quickly.

As a result of these exciting changes and new product introductions we are exhibiting at IFSEC this year (16- 18 June) and so come and see us on stand G975!
