MOBOTIX wins Benchmark Innovation Award

image006MOBOTIX AG, a leading manufacturer of digital high-resolution, network-based video security systems has won an Innovation Award for its MxActivitySensor from Benchmark Magazine, one of the UK’s most respected publications in the security industry and renowned for unbiased product testing.

MxActivitySensor is an intelligent video motion detection system within MOBOTIX S15, D15 and V15 cameras using built-in software-based image analysis function for detecting movement of people and objects in a monitored area. Unlike existing motion sensors that detect all events in the defined motion windows, the MxActivitySensor is able to distinguish between movements of vehicles, people or objects that trigger an alarm and movements that are not relevant for alarms, such as shadows, changes in illumination, trees swaying in the wind or rain directly at the lens. The MxActivitySensor reduces these false alarms with over 90%, with almost no configuration time.

MxActivitySensor is compatible with the following camera models – Q24M, M24M, D24M, T24M, D14Di and S14 (Secure camera models only) and is available as a free of charge MOBOTIX camera software update.

The Benchmark Innovation Awards scheme has been devised to recognise and reward innovations which solve problems faced when designing and implementing a security solution, or which increase the range of real-world benefits on offer. Innovations must bring true value; it is not just enough to add features for the sake of expanding a list of functions.

“We would like to thank the judging team at Benchmark for this award,” said Dominic Chapman, UK Country Manager for MOBOTIX, “As a company, we commit considerable resources to R&D and passionately believe that innovation is essential to progress our industry and offering tangible benefits to the wider society.”
