Monica Eaton-Cardone shortlisted for Women in IT Awards 2016

Entrepreneur, CIO and Co-Founder of chargeback specialist Global Risk Technologies recognised for international leadership at female technologist awards.

Monica Eaton-Cardone, CIO and co-founder of leading risk mitigation technology firm Global Risk Technologies, has been shortlisted for the ‘International Star of the Year’ at the prestigious Women in IT Awards.

Hailed as technology’s largest diversity event, the awards celebrate female leaders in the IT Industry, this year receiving over 200 nominations.

A recent study revealed that just 16 percent of the IT industry is currently made up of women, and the gap is worsening. The awards boast resounding support from trade associations, politicians and companies across numerous sectors, and have emerged as the largest and most influential initiative tackling the IT gender imbalance.

Monica Eaton-Cardone has been recognised for her passionate advocacy of empowering and encouraging more women to take up leadership positions, and is an active member of several professional organisations, including The American Business Women’s Association. As an influential figure in the technology sector with an awareness of the industry’s gender gap, Eaton-Cardone is in prime position to encourage a new generation of women to join the ranks.

Speaking of the role of women in technology, Monica Eaton-Cardone said:

“The current digital evolution and revolution in which we exist is removing barriers between women and the workplace. It’s important to get the word out that there are plenty of opportunities for women in the IT industry, and positions of leadership are open to them too.”

“Employers need to take on board that women, especially those with families, have skills that are transferable from the domestic sphere to the business environment that are often overlooked, such as the ability to successfully multi-task and drive production, not to mention impressive management skills.”

A self-taught expert in managing chargebacks, analysing risk relativity and helping businesses create a sustainable model for payment processing, Monica has also earned a reputation for creative business solutions, helping merchants and banks to achieve sustainable payment-processing practices and supporting consumers in resolving transaction issues.

Ben Rossi, Editorial Director of Information Age, added:

“It’s because of women like Monica that we decided to introduce the International Star of the Year category this year, allowing us to honour high-achieving technology leaders who have a global influence.

As well as a successful business leader in her own right, Monica is a passionate advocate of empowering and encouraging more women to take up leadership positions. We’re delighted to recognise Global Risk Technologies among this year’s finalists for the Women in IT Awards.”
