Navtech Radar, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of commercial millimetre wave intelligent radar solutions for outdoor commercial applications, have completed a proof of concept trial with their Abu Dhabi-based integration partner Alliance Security – a division of Abu Dhabi-based Alliance Traffic Systems – for a fully integrated Radar and CCTV site surveillance solution entirely run by solar energy. The cutting edge millimetre surveillance radar system is ideal when integrated with the latest CCTV and solar panel technology and the complete solution is specifically designed to enable full site surveillance in some of the most remote and challenging locations.

Keith Chapman, Head of Global Sales, Security Division at Navtech Radar, said: “The radar is drawing only 18-20 watts and has a certified operating temperature of + 65 degrees. I am pleased to say that the new solution has already drawn interest from a number of key verticals within the U.A.E as the radar surveillance solution addresses a number of logistical and environmental challenges. In combination with Navtech’s analytical tracking software – witness2 – the solution delivers full situational awareness and alarm management to a centralised control centres 24 /7. The site or – multiple sites – under surveillance can be divided into multiple zones with varying threat and detection levels. Identifying and classifying the movement of multiple targets within the range of the radar, which are in turn recorded within an audit log. The benefit of the analytical software means the system can be configured to manage – and more importantly greatly reduce – the number of false or nuisance alarms. The solution hence provides security with the best possible advanced warning and tracking of genuine, real time intrusion within a site and/or approaches to its perimeter. Alliance Security is the ideal partner for Navtech in the Region. The company has a wealth of integration experience with both radar and CCTV technology, coupled with a highly trained team of project and support engineers, which ensures that client gets absolutely top quality support.”

Navtech Radar already has several installations in the Middle East so the company is well aware of the challenges associated with wide area protection in the region. In January the company further launched their new explosion proof AGS1600 EXTREME solution with the acclaimed witness2 control software suite at Intersec 2013.
