Gilgen’s new SR5-B Shutter on show at SCTX, London

A new SR5 rated security shutter from Gilgen Door Systems was on display for the first time at the Security and Counter Terror Show, London Olympia, 19-20th April. The Rolegard SR5-B is the first LPS1175 SR5 rated security shutter to be launched with a certified ballistics rating.

Designed to help protect facilities against emerging threats such as hostile incursion and swarm attack, SR5-B combines the highest physical attack standard achieved in a security shutter with unrivalled ballistics and blast protection properties. To achieve its very high security rating the shutter was tested to LPS1175, issue 7, level 5 using a wide range of professional attack methods including the use of high end power tools. The FB3 and FB4 ballistics ratings where achieved following stringent tests to satisfy the requirements of BS EN1522:1999.

SR5-B features a newly tested Automatic Self Locking (ASL) system designed to ‘lock down’ facilities without the need for ground locks. Designed by Gilgen’s highly experienced product development team, the ASL system helps to improve protocol and prevents the lifting and jacking of the shutter in the closed position. The system is one of a range of innovations Gilgen Door Systems has launched through its continuous investment in product development.
Following the successful test of its Rolegard SR5 security shutter, Bob Stephens of LPCB presented the LPCB ballistics certificate to Kevin Campbell, Sales Director of Gilgen Door Systems at the show.
