Oprema’s Sales Director striving for high targets for charity

On 25 June, Gareth Williams – Sales Director at Oprema – will take on the legendary Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for St David’s Hospice.

This challenge will see Gareth scale the highest mountains in North, Mid and South Wales in succession, walking a total of 17 miles, ascending around 1500 metres/4920 feet and driving the 135 miles in between, all in less than 24 hours.

Starting at 3:30am on Sunday 25 June 2016, Gareth will first take on Snowdon, the highest mountain in the country at 1085 metres/3560 feet. Following the four-hour climb, Gareth has a one-hour drive to the second leg, Cadair Idris standing at 893 metres/2930 feet, where he anticipates a two-hour climb. After travelling 2.5 hours to Pen y Fan (886 metres/2907 feet) in the Brecon Beacons, he will complete the final climb in approx. two hours, aiming to finish his challenge at 8:00pm.

Gareth’s quest is to raise money for St David’s Hospice, a registered charity providing end of life care, free of charge, to the people of Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy. Gareth has so far raised £610.00 of his £1,000 target.

“I’ve been training hard in the weeks leading up to the challenge. I’m now hoping for some good weather and generous donations to help me reach my sponsorship target,” comments Gareth. “I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for St David’s Hospice, a fantastic charity that provides end of life care and support for families. You can support me by visiting my JustGiving page and giving a donation. Anything that you can give to help me reach my fundraising target is much appreciated.”
