PSNE  today announced the immediate appointment of John Phelan as Panasonic Ireland Area Sales Manager. Phelan brings to Panasonic an 11 year history in Security Installation management coupled with industry driven determination and comprehensive security qualifications. John’s initial focus will be on the development of Panasonic’s Security group within dealerships, specifiers, end users and installers.

Evolving from an education in Business Management and IT, John moved into the security distribution business with Liam Phelan in 1999. Subsequent years in the ever growing Phelan Security provided John with huge experience working with major manufacturers, including Panasonic, and across all areas of the security industry.

Recognising that the market for IP was growing, John decided to embark on a series of educational programmes with the aim of developing expertise in all areas of IP and networking; Gaining Cisco’s CCNA and Comptia’s Network Plus qualifications. John was one of the early pioneers of IP into the Irish market, and it was then that he decided the future of CCTV was in IP technology and High Definition video.

‘With the pendulum swinging towards complete IP security, I saw my opportunity to embrace change and lead the Irish market into a new HD and IP era’, John stated. ’There are few manufacturers that match both the expertise and product range that Panasonic currently have on offer. The i-Pro Smart HD range provides clients and integrators with a total system solution, from High Definition cameras to the latest in NVR technology and storage solutions.’

John’s experience has recently involved specifying and designing large scale, complex IP CCTV and integrated security systems across a range of diverse clients. Working with products including the WJ-NV200, 16-channel NVR , John’s expertise will continue to support Panasonic’s client-driven aim to educate and develop the Irish Security Industry.

Peter Dempsey, National Accounts Manager, added; ‘Even in these tough economic conditions, John’s appointment reinforces Panasonic’s commitment to remaining as the number one IP CCTV manufacturer in Ireland. In strengthening our Irish team we can continue to build on the excellent level of service and support Panasonic already offers to it’s surveillance partners and customers.’
