Premier Las Vegas Resort chooses global surveillance business Synectics

Global surveillance business, Synectics, has secured a multi-million dollar contract to supply an integrated video and security management solution for one of the most iconic and prestigious gaming and leisure resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.

The contract is Synectics’ first 5,000+ channel ‘5-Star’ property in the U.S., building upon similar successes in the Asia-Pacific region and growing credentials as one of the world’s leading surveillance system suppliers for casinos.

The enterprise-class solution, with multi-site monitoring that spans gaming, hospitality and administrative facilities across the 215-acre Vegas property, takes full advantage of Synectics’ highly scalable, open architecture command and control software – Synergy 3.

Adam Heisler, Synectics’ International Gaming Sales Director, said:

“Synergy 3 includes a wide variety of integrations to third party systems that are critical to gaming operations, security and safety – such as IP cameras, access control, door alarms and Point of Sale (POS). Our deep industry experience and product development ethos ensures our platform can be tailored to work with other security, gaming and leisure management technologies to deliver complete situational awareness across the business enterprise.”

“There’s no ‘one size fits all’ requirement or solution for the gaming industry, but Synergy’s extraordinary flexibility enables casinos to ‘flex’ the application to meet their unique and ever changing needs. The ability to customize the user interface, mapping functionality, reports, workflows and data analytics for different users and departments was key to the client’s decision to select Synectics for this project.

“Synergy’s non-proprietary, open-design also allows the client to reutilize much of their legacy surveillance equipment, including cameras, storage servers and encoders, while economically transitioning to newer technology and greater capabilities.”

The new Synectics’ solution will enable the surveillance and security teams to centrally monitor, record and manage video from over 5000 PTZ and fixed dome, analogue and IP cameras, alongside alarm and transactional data from third party systems. The entire end-to-end solution was designed and tested at Synectics’ UK technology center as part of the pre-qualification and contract process.

The Las Vegas operator plans to utilize Synergy 3’s data analytics engine and customizable workflows to automate data-driven situational management, security processes, and operator training.

Heisler explained:

“Synergy 3 does not just collect data from multiple sources; it collates and presents relevant information to busy operators with corresponding video and alarm data, packaged with clear on-screen instructions on how they should respond.

“Or, as in the case with this deployment, the system can be programmed to automate certain responses – such as opening/locking doors – if user-specific ‘data events’ occur. For large-scale sites like this, intelligent system automation can make a huge difference to operational efficiency and profits.”

The system is expected to be fully deployed by Q4 2016, and will be supported by an onsite operator training program developed specifically for this customer.

This project is just the latest of several significant gaming contracts secured by Synectics for world class gaming operators in Macau Cotai, Singapore and Manila’s Entertainment City.

Synectics’ technology monitors and manages more than 100,000 channels in over 100 of the largest, busiest and most tightly regulated casinos in Asia, North America and Europe.
