Product Spotlight: Biometric parking management

UNIONCOMMUNITY has developed its world’s first biometric authentication for motorcycle access and parking management integrating facial recognition

UNIONCOMMUNITY has developed the world’s first motorcycle access and parking management system using biometric authentication. UBio-X MPass (tentative) is a system that combines UNIONCOMMUNITY’s face recognition and license plate recognition technologies, and access records, parking management and prevent motorcycle theft through matching its license plate and rider’s face. It is gaining a reputation for being efficient as the market operates separately between access control and parking management which were manually managed by the security manager for the time being. UBio-X MPass is a new concept solution that combines UBio-X Pro2, a multimodal product of UNIONCOMMUNITY, and motorcycle license plate recognition technology. It is especially targeted at the Southeast Asian market with a large number of motorcycle users.

The motorcycle license plate recognition system has 99% authentication rate, which enables accurate license plate recognition and authentication. Furthermore, to license plate images, Video shooting and live video streaming can be used for authentication. Small license plates, license plates photographed from the side, and vehicle license plates can also be accurately authenticated. This technology is able to recognize and authenticate multiple license plates within a limited time frame. As a result, it is the pride of the system that rapid authentication and pass through gates are possible without any delay in identification and motorcycle verification when entering and exiting.

The motorcycle is a major public transportation method in Southeast Asia, and this is a suitable system for local situations in which a number of motorcycles must be authenticated and passed during rush hours. When UBio-X MPass covers 15 motorcycles per gate in a minute and installed in 8 different gates, it is the system that can authenticate and pass 120 motorcycles per minute which means approximately 1,000 riders (labours) can complete access authentication and pass in less than 10 minutes.

UBio-X Pro2 is a multimodal, non-cooperative face recognition system that can authenticate faces, fingerprint and card authentication, featuring: Deep learning algorithms, allowing users to recognize faces in various angles and up to 3m distance Live Detection, and Anti-Spoofing functions so that photos, videos, and 3D models that are fake authentication attempts used can be blocked. Another big feature is that users who are not registered in advance can register at the site only by entering their phone numbers. Also, it can be used effectively to prevent and block infection diseases that are continuously spreading around the world by recognising when a person does not wear a mask or improperly wearing a mask on the nose or chin, and notifying a warning message and restricting access.

Starting with a pilot installation at Trimmers, a trunk manufacturer in Vietnam, in March, it is planning to expand sales to local manufacturers in Vietnam, and aims to supply large apartment complexes, distribution channels and subway transfer parking lots.
