The team from the region’s largest independent supplier of fire and security services will be among a host of fundraisers joining the Men’s Day Out event in aid of Plymouth charity St Luke’s Hospice.

The event is being supported by Plymouth Albion and after the eight mile sponsored walk, all those taking part will be able to enjoy a pint and curry. They even get to watch Plymouth Albion’s home match against London Welsh.

While the walk is for men only, the women won’t miss out altogether as the club is staging Ladies Day at the same time.

It was Bob’s idea to take part in the charity walk and he will joined by Managing Director – Fire and Security Scott Boyd and three other team members, Mark Bostick, Paul Hands and Martin Demuth.

Bob said the company was very keen to support the work of one of the city’s most popular charities.

“All the guys were happy to take part, and as well as raising some money, it will give us all a chance to walk off a few of those extra pounds put on over Christmas,” he said.

“The thought of a pint, a curry and the chance to watch the rugby was also a great incentive. We are all thoroughly looking forward to what should be a great day out for a great charity!”

Securi-Guard has enjoyed a long association with Plymouth Albion rugby club, providing support for the club’s CCTV, Fire and intruder alarm systems, as well as manned security on match days, for the past 15 years,.

The company is also a keen supporter of charities, making regular donations to those based in Plymouth and elsewhere in Devon and Cornwall.

Scott said: “St Luke’s do excellent work and is one of those charities really synonymous with Plymouth. We were delighted to be able to support this fundraising event.”
