Sepura and SELECTRIC achieve milestone of 400,000 radios delivered to BDBOS users

Sepura has delivered over 400,000 TETRA radios to BDBOS users in 11 German states. To support these devices, more than half of the installed base have now agreed long term software maintenance contracts with Sepura and their partners in Germany, SELECTRIC.
Due to the gradual rollout of TETRA terminals by different federal states over time, Germany’s emergency services have at any one time a range of Sepura terminal and software versions. Regular firmware updates are essential to ensure the continued effectiveness of their wireless communications.
The new maintenance contracts cover existing software as well as future BDBOS IOP upgrade requirements to support enriched radio software, ensuring the requirements of German BOS users will always be met.
The introduction of the Sepura SC2 series to the market helps to facilitate quick and cost-efficient hardware upgrades, enabling accessory re-use from previous Sepura radios and adoption to the latest TETRA radio features.
Hendrik Pieper, Managing Director of SELECTRIC, said, “We are very pleased to continue cooperation with Sepura and to deliver the latest in TETRA technology to German BOS users. This is a testament to the high-quality standards we set for working with our long-time customers to deliver products and services that meet their high standards.”
