SICUREZZA 2015: wireless access tops the bill

At SICUREZZA 2015 (3rd to 5th November, Hall 22, Stand H11 K20), ASSA ABLOY showcases products at the cutting edge of the latest industry trends, with a key focus on wireless access control.

“With customers in mind, we are exhibiting all our well-known brands together on our stand,” explains Antonella del Sole, Marketing Manager at ASSA ABLOY Italia. “We have leading products for both corporate and domestic markets.

“And because we will showcase brands including Yale, ABLOY, Gardesa, Corni and Traka in one place, customers will be able to get a great overview of developments in the industry. We hope it will help them to form their strategy and make smarter security decisions.”

Key product lines on show include wireless locks and access control products from Aperio, SMARTair, CLIQ and new domestic smart lock from Yale, ENTR. “Our own company data suggests wireless locks could make up 30 percent of the total market within a decade, up from around 15% currently,” says Chris Bone, Vice President Access Control EMEA at ASSA ABLOY.

Quick and easy to install, Aperio wireless locks are compatible with the standard RFID card technologies that new and existing access control systems use. The ASSA ABLOY stand showcases four live integrations on the stand, with security systems from Sintesi, Zucchetti, Digitronica and Genetec.

The Aperio product portfolio includes certified online and offline cylinders and escutcheons for a variety of openings, including security doors. Aperio® is the smart choice for any company looking to extend a traditional wired access control system without breaking the bank.

SMARTair is a simpler, standalone wireless access control system that offers an easy step up from mechanical keys. SMARTair technology is proven in the field all over Europe, securing schools, hotels, offices, student accommodation blocks and more.

The SMARTair Genesis bundle is targeted at small premises. Genesis offers an out-the-box SMARTair system which is affordable and easy to install. Based on the SMARTair™ “Update on Card” offering, Genesis allows businesses to manage up to 30 doors in a secure, wireless electronic access control system.

ASSA ABLOY’s CLIQ technology combines electronic and mechanical security in a wide range of cylinder-type mechatronic locks. CLIQ locks are powered by a battery inside every identical, programmable CLIQ key—so installation needs no wires.

With the CLIQ PROTEC2 locking system, a patented rotating disc cylinder offers the highest grade of mechanical protection. The electronics inside CLIQ locks allow scheduling of access rights. Staff can easily generate audit trails using new browser-based Web Manager software that also makes managing complex workflows much easier—especially for companies with many buildings and remote sites. CLIQ customers include demanding critical infrastructure operators all over Europe, from water and waste utilities to electricity distributors and hospitals.

ASSA ABLOY also leads the way in bringing proven locking technology into the smart home market. ENTR is a battery-operated smart lock that provides a variety of ways to open a home or office door without physical keys.

With an ENTR smart lock, users securely control access from a connected device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Alternatively, a PIN code, fingerprint reader or remote control accessory can unlock a door for any authorised user. ENTR combines the strength of a high-security mechanical cylinder with advanced electro-mechanical and digital technology. It turns a front door into a smartdoor.
