UNION Architectural Hardware was the primary choice for security at Speedo’s new global headquarters, supplying its patent protected KeyULTRA™ masterkey system to over 60 doors.
The £5million project, located on the NG2 Business Park in Nottingham, houses Speedo’s high-tech Aqualab, which helped develop the world-beating swimsuits used by Rebecca Adlington, as well as providing office facilities for 170 staff.
The highly sensitive nature of Speedo’s research and development operation, where the company evolves its state-of-the-art swimwear, led to a UNION KeyULTRA™ masterkey system being installed.
Where some masterkey systems can be compromised, with borrowed keys being easily duplicated, KeyULTRA™ provides the additional security of patent protection, ensuring that only authorised personnel can obtain new keys.
UNION’s KeyULTRA™ 6 pin masterkey cylinders possess one of the longest patents on the market, lasting until 2028. This patent protects the key and cylinder assembly, with DuraPIN™ technology.
Nottingham based KeyULTRA™ partner, Turentek, installed the hardware at the new development, which was constructed to an excellent rating under BREEAM 2006.
