TDSi launches EXgarde 4.4 version of Integrated Security Software Solution

Integrated security manufacturer TDSi is proud to announce the launch of EXgarde 4.4, the latest version of its fully integrated access control solution. Amongst the additions to the new version, 4.4 offers a Tenant Event Split option, Elevator Dispatch facility, integration with SimonsVoss wireless locking solutions, an updated EXtour Module, a security tours function and the new EXgarde Web Interface. EXgarde 4.4 adds considerable additional functionality, as Mike Sussman, Technical Director at TDSi explains, “Whilst EXgarde 4.4 shares many functions of previous versions, this latest version has been designed to incorporate a wide array of new features which add useful additional value to what is already a heavily feature-rich and comprehensive security solution.” Mike continues, “The new features are designed for a myriad of uses, from giving landlords greater control over access rights, to ensuring lift systems work in conjunction with access control through IP connectivity. Equally, we have included full integration with SimonsVoss wireless locking systems for improved flexibility and scope of installation, updated the EXtour module to assist security teams with their scheduled tours and designed a web interface which will give greater flexibility as to where security operators use and manage EXgarde.” Tenant Event Split EXgarde 4.4 allows landlords to partition visibility of system and operator events according to the tenant using them. For example, if EXgarde is overseeing a number of different facilities it will be preferable that tenants are not privy to the details of other sites or properties – so landlords can specify the access and information rights allotted to the user. Elevator Dispatch This function is designed to speed up travel and ease congestion in high traffic buildings. When a keyholder enters the access controlled area through the entrance/turnstile EXgarde informs the elevator system which then calculates the quickest elevator route to their destination floor and notifies and guides them automatically. SimonsVoss Integration The new version of EXgarde features full integration with the SimonsVoss SmartIntego Online locking solutions. When used in conjunction with TDSi’s core systems, this allows greater flexibility in remote areas where access control may be more difficult to implement. Extour Module update EXgarde PRO’s Extour Module update provides the facility to pre-define specific security tours using existing access control readers. Each specified tour defines the order in which the readers should be visited, along with the set time they should be checked. Alarms in EXtour indicate in real time if specific tour points have not been reached, alerting operators to a potential emergency. EXgarde Web Interface TDSi’s new web interface allows security operators/users to log into the server via their chosen web browser. This allows access to key functionality, such as adding and removing keyholders and keys, remote door control, basic reporting and live event monitoring. EXgarde 4.4 is available in three options to match the applications of the operator/user: EXgarde Express – The entry level version designed for a single site and up to 32 doors with limited features EXgarde PRO – The advanced level feature-rich version which is multi-site compatible and can control up to 32 doors. An upgrade to unlimited is also available EXgarde Enterprise – The unlimited door version designed for enterprise-level operations. TDSi supports Julia’s House children’s hospices charity

TDSi supports Julia’s House children’s hospices charity As part of its commitment to the local community, Poole-based Integrated security manufacturer TDSi has chosen the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospices charity Julia’s House (registered charity number 1067125) to be the main beneficiary of its 2015 fundraising activities. TDSi is proud to support worthy charities and Julia’s House is exactly the kind of organisation it likes to support, as Managing Director John Davies commented, “As a Dorset-based company we have strong ties to the local community and organisations, so we like to contribute as much as possible. Julia’s House is a very popular choice with the TDSi team, a charity which helps life-limited children and their families across the area by offering invaluable support and respite sessions.” The TDSi team will be organising many fundraising activities in the coming months, with John personally running in the local 26.2 mile Bournemouth Marathon later this year to raise money for the charity. Recently members of TDSi team visited the charity’s hospice in Corfe Mullen, Dorset and a reciprocal visit was made by staff from the hospice to show the rest of the team at TDSi’s headquarters in Poole exactly where the fundraising money goes and how it helps the people involved. Sophie Wilkins, Marketing Assistant at TDSi, was one member of the team that visited the hospice and commented, “It was a great insight into the wonderful work that Julia’s House does and how it makes a huge impact on the children and their families that desperately need the charity’s help. We had a tour of the facilities and met the staff that help people on a daily basis, sometimes under very challenging circumstances.” Sophie added, “The whole company is looking forward to starting the fundraising campaign, and we have some interesting ideas in the pipeline already – including another charity ‘Bake-off’ competition, which proved so popular last year! We have also had proposals of quiz events and other social and fun activities that make the fundraising equally enjoyable for the team.” The TDSi team are no strangers to embracing charity fundraising activities. Previous initiatives have ranged from the fun ‘Wear it. Beat It’ red-themed day on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, to the ‘Drench the Directors’ and ‘Bake-off’ competitions in aid of the Boo charity, through to the gruelling Tough Mudder physical assault course activity in aid of Help for Heroes, which seriously tested the competitors to raise money. UK-based TDSi celebrates 20 years of business in China

UK-based TDSi celebrates 20 years of business in China Integrated security solutions manufacturer TDSi is celebrating 20 years of growth and success in the Chinese security market. Exports to China account for 5% of TDSi’s turnover and the territory represents its second largest market outside the EU. TDSi’s Managing Director, John Davies, commented, “We have had a phenomenal two decades of business in the Chinese security market, which is largely down to the help and support of our local expert partners. China is a huge and highly competitive marketplace and whilst it is also one of the biggest manufacturing countries in the world, there is a very strong interest in British security products because of their quality and innovation. TDSi is proud to manufacture all of its products in the UK and we firmly believe that our continued success is also down to Chinese buyers’ recognition of the top-notch systems we supply through the best local installers.” TDSi began selling in China through C&K before it was acquired by Honeywell. Post that acquisition, TDSi worked through regional distributors in China before establishing TDSi China, a wholly owned entity, in 2008. The company used two distribution partners covering the north and south of the country. However, in a drive to focus and simplify the distribution model, TDSi has adapted its business model to support current and future growth. John explains, “We have undertaken a strategic review of our routes to market, in order to enhance growth prospects for the next 20 years and to ensure that the channel strategy is fit for purpose for the current market and as it evolves. To do this we have appointed a sole exclusive Master Distributor for the China market – Shenzhen TengDaSi Technology Co.,Ltd.. A new contract outlining and governing this relationship was signed recently and replaces the old regional model that has served us for the past 20 years.” Alex Yuan, General Manager of Shenzhen TengDaSi Technology Co.,Ltd. also commented, “We are very excited to be appointed as TDSi’s Master Distributor in China. The brand commands enormous respect in the Chinese security market and is a popular choice for projects where excellent security, flexibility and ease of use are paramount. We are looking forward to working closely with TDSi as it continues to grow its business in China through the next 20 years of success.” As well as a new distribution model, TDSi is aiming to increase its channel partners over the next three to four years. The company has recently appointed new channel partners in Shanghai, ChongQing, Wuhan and Beijing and is looking for more local experts to take its products to the growing market.
