Tavcom – security training for the future

The 2016 NSI Installer Summit provides an ideal platform for Tavcom Training, the UK’s leading supplier of practical and e-learning electronic security systems training, to promote its training partnership with the NSI.

Tavcom - security training for the future“NSI and Tavcom share a vision of raising standards in the electronic security industry,” said Paul Tennent, Managing Director of Tavcom.

“We are therefore very pleased to be participating at the NSI Installer Summit as an exhibitor and to take the opportunity to educate installers, systems integrators, control room operators and other organisations who are NSI approved, on how they can improve their skill sets, and in the process acquire career enhancing, accredited qualifications.”

20 percent discount
Under the agreed terms of the training partnership, NSI approved companies are entitled to claim a 20 percent discount on all Tavcom distance learning online programmes, as well as the traditional classroom and workshop based courses conducted at its Hampshire training centre.

“We will also be looking to raise awareness of the Tavcom resettlement initiative which is designed to facilitate the transition of ex-forces personnel into the security sector. Having achieved BTEC accredited qualifications, many of the ex-forces individuals who have participated in Tavcom training courses, are potentially available for immediate employment with the companies visiting the NSI Installer Summit.”

Part of the Linx International Group, Tavcom offers courses to meet the training requirements of security personnel at all levels, from Foundation courses for those with little or no previous experience, to highly advanced programmes for control room supervisors, security managers and company executives.

Over 70 regularly scheduled training courses
Tavcom currently offer over 70 regularly scheduled training courses, ranging from one day seminars, to five day fully residential programmes.

The technical and non-technical courses cover a wide range of security systems topics, including System Planning, Project Management, Structured Cabling, PAT Testing, Control Room Operations, Disaster Recovery, Counter Eavesdropping and Security Management. Tavcom’s workshops provide unrivalled ‘hands-on’ facilities which offer immediate opportunities to put theory into practice – a Tavcom tradition of blended learning that has refined the knowledge and skills of thousands of delegates for over 20 years.

Commenting on the partnership, Richard Jenkins, CEO of NSI said: “Our national team of auditors complete in the region of 4000 regular and robust audits per year of NSI approved companies to verify continual compliance with industry Standards. We welcome the opportunity for our NSI approved companies to access high quality training courses in order to enhance their skills and knowledge as technological advances in the sector continue at pace.

“NSI runs its own popular training courses, primarily based on sector Standards, and by complementing this offer with Tavcom’s provision of quality, accredited courses, NSI approved companies have access to a broader range of cost effective, training options to bolster the learning and development of their employees. NSI approved companies are able to take full advantage of this opportunity. We are delighted that this partnership between our two organisations has been established.”
