TDSi’s Managing Director to raise money for charity

TDSi’s Managing Director to raise money for charity – Children’s Hospice Julia’s House, in Bournemouth Marathon

The Managing Director of Integrated security manufacturer TDSi, John Davies, will be running the Bournemouth Marathon on 4th October in aid of Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospices Julia’s House (Registered Charity 1067125). To raise money for this worthy cause, John has opened a JustGiving page for sponsorship.

John commented:

“I am hard at work training and preparing for the marathon, with the hope of raising £1500+ for this great cause. Government funding only accounts for six percent of the £4.6m Julia’s House needs to raise in 2015 to maintain its free services for those that need it, so it’s vital that fundraising supports this shortfall.”

Julia’s House supports Dorset and Wiltshire families with life-limited children, providing frequent respite care both in its Corfe Mullen-based hospice and in their own homes. Julia’s House is there year-round and in a crisis, offering emotional and practical support, emergency respite and end-of-life care. It supports the whole family, not just the sick child, organising social activities for parents and siblings.

A keen runner, the Bournemouth Marathon is first event in a number that John has planned over the next 12 months. He is building up a training regime to take part in the Marathon de Paris 2016 and London Marathon 2016 next April, and New York later in 2016.

John added:

“Training is very good for self-discipline and determination but it also gives you the perfect opportunity to work through issues in your mind. These benefits translate directly into the world of business, so there are numerous advantages to be gained from setting and achieving defined goals. Having support and clear motivation is also vital – I am proud to be running for such a worthy cause, with the support of the TDSi team and my sponsors behind me.”
