Tensor plc’s access control and ievo’s biometric readers partnership

A partnership between access control management systems from Cambridgeshire-based Tensor plc, and biometric fingerprint readers from Newcastle-based ievo Ltd is providing a wide range of clients across diverse sectors with state-of-the-art security systems.

Whilst Tensor plc is the only Access Control manufacturer and installer to hold both the NACOSS Gold and the ‘Secured by Design’ certifications and CPNI-approved ievo’s fingerprint readers are setting global standards for secure biometric identification and authentication systems, the integration of the two company’s products and expertise is enabling new and existing customers to enjoy superior level of security, usability and efficiency, whilst significantly reducing operational costs.

Rob Cochrane, Group Sales Director, Tensor plc, commented:

“Integrating our own Tensor.NET Access Control and Time & Attendance platform with the ievo biometric readers provides secure and reliable solutions that can be used in virtually any environment and in any configuration, from a single door to complex, multi-site enterprise level systems.”

“Due to the multispectral imaging technology, the ievo readers are able to correctly identify a registered fingerprint even with surface contaminates (grease, dust, etc.) present on the skin, as well as some types of latex gloves worn by the user. They connect directly to our Access Controllers and the Time & Attendance Stations while the process of adding and controlling users is conducted via the standard Tensor.NET software interface, which stores the user fingerprints against the employee’s existing record – eliminating the need for a separate enrolment application.”

“The process is seamless so that existing and prospective Tensor customers can easily add ievo biometric fingerprint readers to their existing system with minimum disruption to their daily activities and they can even customise the look of the readers to better match their premises for an extensive array of applications, from food processing facilities to construction sites and from gyms to secure government installations. It’s a fast and secure biometric authentication solution that works superbly well even in the harshest environments.”

Keri Feeney, ievo Ltd’s Central Region Account Manager, added:

“We are extremely happy to announce our new working relationship with Tensor plc which demonstrates our ethos of constantly developing innovative products for the access control market. Our own biometric fingerprint readers are natural partners with Tensor’s Access Control and Time & Attendance solution with the whole system certainly greater than the sum of its parts!”
