Urmet introduces brushed steel version of Elekta door entry panel

Urmet has introduced a brushed stainless steel version of its market-leading Elekta door entry panel with a flush profile fascia. The Elekta INOX was developed in collaboration with architects and has minimal visual impact, thus preserving the aesthetics of a building’s design.

A visitor using the Elekta panel sees information displayed on a 3.5-inch screen. The panel’s built-in wide-angle colour camera captures images of the visitor and the resident views this on an internal monitor within their apartment.

The Elekta INOX meets the performance requirements of the Equality Act. The alpha-numeric keypad features back-lit LED illumination to assist the visually impaired and the range of mounting heights complies with recommendations for wheelchair-users in the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide.

The panel offers both door entry and access control. Installers are able to provide secure, hassle-free entry for residents via an integral proximity reader that can be used with 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz MIFARE technology. Residents also benefit from a duress function that allows them to open the door with a code and at the same time send a signal to the concierge that there’s a problem.

Factoring out vandalism

The 316-grade micro-brushed stainless steel panel is flush-mounted to the fascia of entrances. The flush moving elements and hidden security fixings factor out pry points to protect against vandalism, which also increases the service life of the product.

Urmet aims to offer unrivalled choice of materials and finishes. There are also Elekta panels in steel, glass and 316L marine-grade stainless steel. The Elekta INOX is available both with Urmet’s IPervoice full IP system, as well as with the 2Voice two-wire system.

Mark Hagger, Sales & Marketing Director at Urmet, says of the product:

“The Elekta INOX is unobtrusive and neutral. It has Urmet’s unmistakable design values and will be popular amongst architects looking for an attractive flush-mounted entrance panel. Whatever a building’s style or age, there is now a door entry panel from the Elekta range offering excellent security with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.”

Broad range of applications

Development of the Elekta INOX illustrates how Urmet is working with the widest range of architects, specifiers and consultants to meet specific needs and frequently requested design elements. The new panel is suitable for all types of accommodation, from high-end residences (including period conversions) to social housing.

Installation time on site is also reduced, as there are no modules to be assembled and engineers need little more than a Torx screwdriver. The dimensions of the Elekta INOX are 338 mm (h) x 150 mm (w) x 60 mm (d).

Release of this architectural variant to the range extends the applications for Urmet Elekta panels. They have already been installed at various prestigious projects, mainly across central London, as well as in other major cities across the UK that are witnessing a huge surge in high-rise housing developments.
