Zicam commits to reducing carbon footprint

Zicam Integrated Security, which provides the latest technology security installations, from CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and perimeter protection, to  fire and life safety systems, is actively committed to reducing its carbon footprint with a dedicated corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. Within the CSR document, which is available to view on the Zicam website, there are several goals set in place to make it clear to all stakeholders how they propose to achieve them, with an outline of all activities. The Dudley based business addresses its commitment to reducing the impact it has on the environment, support of human rights, eliminating discrimination and encouraging equality and diversity, promoting sustainability through its business and employees, endorsing the local community and much more.

CEO of Zicam Integrated Security, Milan Mazic stated “We are committed to continuous improvement in our Corporate and Social Responsibility, encouraging our business partners to strive for matching performance by acting in a socially responsible way. We will continually improve our performance and meet all relevant legislation, with the encouragement to our staff to be mindful of the effect their actions may have on natural resources.

“As we are in a time of climate emergency, all businesses could be doing more to improve their environmental impacts. With many ways to reduce carbon emissions, this should be an integral aspect of a company’s CSR strategy.”

Zicam is committed to reducing its carbon footprint with multiple processes set in place to meet its target. These include switching its vehicles from diesel engines, sending equipment directly to sites to reduce transit times, moving from fleet to hybrid vehicles, installing electrical vehicle charging points on site and the introduction of a paperless office.

Zicam believes that it is important for companies to have a genuine focus on social responsibility. By outlining a corporate social responsibility, companies become socially accountable to themselves, investors, customers, employees, the community, and the environment. These interests, Zicam states, should be reflected in the company’s policies with actions to enact positive change. With a dedication to employee satisfaction, Zicam is well aware of how a genuine CSR policy can foster a productive and positive working environment for not only current employees, but that it can also help to attract more talent, and they type of people that a business wants to employ.

CSR should not just be a “box ticking” exercise, but rather an authentic journey to make a difference to the environment, communities, and its employees. Zicam is a true representation of this as it strives to encourage improvement through all aspects of business.

Zicam prides itself on providing bespoke security solutions that exceed clients’ requirements and its system design is future proofed, enabling expansion as client needs develop. All equipment meets approved industry and legislative standards and complies with ISO 9001:2008, BS50132 & DD243:2002, NSI Gold and local police force policies.
