360 Vision creates opportunities in Middle East by promoting Britain

After identifying the Middle East as a key target market, 360 Vision Technology set about proving its dedication to the region and, in the process, discovered a wealth of opportunities for fellow UK businesses.

Mark Rees, Business Development Director, gave SecurityNewsDesk an exclusive look into the company’s Middle East growth and how it’s promoting UK interests in the region.

“The Middle East offers 360 Vision a wide variety of opportunities, not least because our range of CCTV cameras is ideally suited to environmental conditions in the region,” Rees said. “After attending Intersec for the first time in we came away with over 200 prospects from companies interested in our services. As a result, we took the leap and established a Middle East base in Dubai so that we could fully commit the appropriate resources to the market.”

It was, in part, 360 Vision’s ongoing participation at Messe Frankfurt’s Intersec exhibition that opened the company’s eyes to a missed opportunity for British security companies to work together.

Rees said, “There is massive demand in the region for quality British products, and the response we get at events like Intersec and our rapid growth since establishing a base in Dubai prove this. As we expanded our operations from the Middle East HQ we began to realise that we were regularly crossing paths with UK companies offering a range of services that were complementary to our own offerings. During 2013’s Intersec exhibition we saw that there was an opportunity for UK businesses to come together and leverage each other’s technologies to mutually increase success.”

As a result of this realisation, 360 Vision set about finding ways to bring British companies together, and with the help and support of several other likeminded security companies such as Navtech Radar and WCCTV, succeeded in getting the initiative off the ground.

“We decided to make the most of the popularity and success of Intersec by arranging a networking evening for UK manufacturers during this year’s exhibition. The informal event attracted a range of security professionals, all keen to share their knowledge and experience and discuss ways of working together to promote the quality products and services coming out of Great Britain. The event was a great success,” said Rees.

As many companies have products and services that complement rather than compete against each other, Rees chose to use the opportunity to look at ways to support and promote fellow British companies in the market.

SecurityNewsDesk was also on hand at the event and captured key comments from supporters of this initiative on video (which can be found via the link at the end of this article).

360 vision logo (Custom)Speaking at the event, David Gilbertson, Managing Director of WCCTV, said, “It’s a wonderful opportunity where we can get together to maximise the benefit of what is best about Great Britain and what wonderful technologies we have within the UK that can merge together to form solutions that are market leading in this part of the world.”

Keith Chapman, Head of Global Sales, Navtech Radar, added, “The benefits we have from networking at an event like this is to provide for one country the ability to present a united front of joined up thinking when it comes to delivering solutions in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, etc. Dubai – being a hub for business and the opportunities to meet with people here who have a reach across the Middle East – is very important.”

The success of this initiative has improved contacts between UK companies with similar interests and generated ongoing discussion on how businesses can collaborate to promote British interests.

Rees also told SecurityNewsDesk that 360 Vision efforts had not gone unnoticed.

“UKTI and the British Embassy approached our stand at Intersec this year after hearing about our initiative and efforts to promote UK growth and extended their support.  We are very proud of our British roots and the fact that the UK is a leading source of top security solutions, so it’s great to know that we are able to make a difference, and we will continue to encourage and support networking between British businesses in the security industry in order to provide the Middle East with the best quality products and the great British service.”

Since opening their offices in Silicon Oasis, 360 Vision Technology has won an array of major contracts and is growing swiftly with several key projects on the horizon. The company’s CCTV cameras are in use in a variety of high profile locations, including government facilities and royal residences.

Building on the company’s strong relationship with London Gateway in the UK, 360 Vision is also looking at a partnership with the port’s sister company, Dubai World Port. In addition, there are plans for over 200 360 Vision cameras to be installed as part of a new project across Qatar.
