Following on from a number of contract wins at other prominent entertainment venues such as the Southbank Centre and the Sage Gateshead, Axis Security has secured a high profile contract to supply manned guarding and customer facing services at the nation’s leading dance house, Sadler’s Wells Theatre in Islington, London.

One of the UK’s leading providers of bespoke security solutions, Axis Security is contracted to provide 24-hour security cover at the theatre including the policing of public areas, monitoring the stage door, conducting general security patrols and offering front-of-house assistance in the meeting and greeting of visitors.

Britannia Morton, Director of Visitor Services and Estates at the theatre, says that security provision forms an integral component of the building’s infrastructure: “Axis Security plays an essential role in our safety and security processes, helping to keep the building operating smoothly and effectively. Its officers also play an important part in offering a professional welcome to our artists and visitors alike.”

According to Britannia, the theatre recognised that Axis Security was the security company best able to fulfil the requirements of the contract and the environment: “It was our preferred supplier because it demonstrated a sound understanding of our needs and was able to come up with flexible solutions to our problems.”

Jonathan Levine, Group CEO of Axis Security, says that this contract is testament to the company’s excellent reputation for customer service: “I am pleased that Axis Security has once again been given an opportunity to demonstrate its high standards of professionalism in customer-facing roles and hope that this is a relationship that may long continue as our expertise in the entertainment venue sector continues to grow.”

Sadler’s Wells is the UK’s leading dance house, committed to producing, commissioning and presenting new works and to bringing the very best international and UK dance to London audiences. The theatre’s cutting edge programme spans dance in all its forms, from contemporary to flamenco, bollywood to ballet, salsa to street dance and tango to tap.

Located in Islington in north London, the current theatre is the sixth to have stood on the site since it was first built by Richard Sadler in 1683. The venue has played an illustrious role in the history of theatre ever since with The Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Opera all having started at Sadler’s Wells.
