Commercial security systems provider Kings Security Systems has announced Stephen Hutchinson as its new Systems Sales Manager.
Hutchinson brings with him 30 years of security experience, specialist knowledge and management of around 50 UK stadia safety and security projects.
“I am personally delighted to join Kings at such an exciting time. I look forward to using my expertise to support Kings in winning and managing specialist security projects for UK sports and stadia venues, HM prisons, Ministry of Justice, casino, leisure and the public sector,” he said.
Stephen comes from an electrical and electronic engineering background where he started as an apprentice electrician and moved into the security industry in 1983. His stadia security experience originates from the time of the stadium fire at Bradford City FC in 1985. His company, at that time, was also involved in the formation of the ‘The Green Guide’ in relation to safety at sports grounds.
In his previous role, Stephen was responsible for the concept designs and installation of major stadia safety and security systems, with some involvement in designs for overseas stadia projects. He has also managed a number of UK prisons’ multi-discipline security projects. Stephen has held previous security roles as both managing director and latterly sales and business development director. He was also sales manager for a CCTV company where he was involved in sales and designs for projects in the UK casino and leisure sector for clients including Whitbread, Travel Inn and Marriot Hotels, First Leisure and Mecca.
Steve Evans, commercial director of Kings Security Systems, commented: “This is a very welcome appointment at Kings. Stephen has extensive experience, breadth of knowledge and huge credibility in the security world, particularly in relation to stadia, commercial and public sector security projects. We look forward to Stephen’s involvement with our new and existing clients and adding strength and value to our portfolio.”
