Teleste to contribute to the Safe City projects in the Middle East
In January 2016, Teleste exhibited for the 1st time at Intersec in Dubai to demonstrate our commitment to the local market and contribute our technologies and global experiences to the safe city projects in the Middle East.
Harri Rantanen, Regional Managing Director at Teleste said:
“We were very excited and impressed of Intersec as the place in the world where the key stakeholders of our industry gathered. The show was an excellent opportunity for us to meet our key customers and partners throughout the GCC region, and listen to their thoughts, and requirements, and how we as Teleste could address their concerns.”
The GCC countries are forging ahead with plans to establish a strong passenger and freight rail transport network and there are already major infrastructure investments on their way.
The rapid development of the transportation sector opens up new business opportunities across the region, and the growth will be driven also by the upcoming Dubai World Expo 2020 and Doha FIFA World Cup 2022. In addition ensuring safety of citizens, through video surveillance management systems is among the key challenges for several safe city projects, and one of the hot security topics in the region.
Mr. Rantanen said:
“In the coming years, large infrastructure projects such as airports, expo areas, stadiums, metro, light rail transit, bus lines and intelligent transportation systems will take place across the Middle East. I am looking forward with great excitement to see how we as Teleste can partner with the local market stakeholders and contribute to the societies and economies.”
Newcomer at Teleste, but not a stranger to the Middle East
Harri Rantanen joined Teleste as Regional Managing Director at the end of 2015, but due to his previous career with Microsoft and Nokia, he has several years of operating experience in Dubai, where he has lived since 2008.
Mr. Rantanen told:
“I admire a lot of the foresight of the UAE leadership to diversify and grow their economies and their high aspiration levels in many fields whether it is leveraging technology in government services or innovation to secure the wellbeing of its citizens or health care and education system developments within UAE.”
Next pit stop at Middle East Rail 2016
With major customers such as the French national railway company SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français) and the Paris Polis (Préfecture de police de Paris) in France, and Chicago Transit Authority CTA in the USA, Teleste has a profound experience as a technology vendor and an end-to-end solution provider for large-scale rail, transportation, and safe city security projects.
“As several major rail and safe city projects are under way in GCC countries, a company like Teleste can support the customer requirements with our technologies and global experiences and provide reliable, scalable and integrated video security, passenger information and display solutions”, Harri Rantanen explained.
Next, Teleste will highlight its solutions at Middle East Rail 2016 in Dubai, 8-9 March, where we will bring forward our intelligent technology e.g. for wireless data transmission, video surveillance solutions, as well as large displays with integrated cameras. In addition, Teleste’s wireless offline CCTV offload will be presented by Dr. Jani Väre at the Middle East Rail technology theatre on Tuesday, 8 March, 3 p.m.
