Genetec talks to SecurityNewsDesk about Intersec 2014 – Security News

GenetecWith Intersec well underway, SecurityNewsDesk have spoken to Meda Casunean, Marketing Communications Manager EMEA of Genetec, about the Intersec experience.

How long has Genetec been participating in Intersec and how have you seen the event grow and change over the years?

2014 will be the 9th year Genetec exhibits at Intersec.

Intersec is a very important security event for our industry and Genetec is committed to attending because Intersec attracts a broad audience of visitors from throughout the Gulf and the Middle East. Since Genetec has been a part of Intersec for the past nine years, we have participated in, and witnessed great change and growth in the security industry.  When Genetec brought the first fully IP-based VMS solution to market over 16 years ago, we knew it would be a disruptive new approach to surveillance. We have appreciated seeing the level of sophistication and creativity advance equally over the years. The industry has grown year-over-year, which directly corresponds to the annual growth in attendance at Intersec.

How does Intersec contribute to the growth and development of the Security Sector?

Intersec brings the sector’s most innovative software and hardware vendors together with integrators from the security and safety industry. It spurs the development of increasingly innovative, complex and exciting ways to shape the industry and push innovation.

What unique opportunities does Intersec offer Genetec?

Intersec is the biggest event Genetec participates in within this region, and it is crucial for us to not only demonstrate our flagship unified security platform Security Center, but to meet and grow relationships with our industry resellers, local partners, integrators and end users.  There is no other place where can we make a bigger impact, connect and share our vision than here at Intersec.

What are you exhibiting at Intersec this year? What product that you are demonstrating at the exhibition are you the most excited about?

We are exhibiting our flagship product, Security Center, that unifies IP-based video surveillance ( Omnicast) , access control (Synergis) and license plate recognition (LPR) (AutoVu) into one platform.  Our focus this is year is on the Access Control Solution, Synergis™.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2014 event?

Genetec most looks forward to the relationships we build at INTERSEC each year, as we connect in person with all of our industry partners, vendors, local sales teams and integrators. Of course we are always eager to meet INTERSEC attendees, and share the latest ways that Genetec is helping its enterprise customers unify and simplify the many parts of physical security through an ever expanding ecosystem of hardware ‘edge device’, plug-in and software support.   We’re anticipating a fantastic show.
