Genetec, provider of enterprise physical security software, announced the appointment of Nicholas Smith as its new Regional Sales Director for UK & Ireland.
With more than 28 years of experience in the IT and security sectors, including eight years at Genetec, Nicholas has been instrumental in growing revenue, and building long-term relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders across high growth industries.
In his new role, Nicholas will lead the company’s regional market strategy, prioritising the development and expansion of its Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. As the physical security industry undergoes a significant transition from on-premises to hybrid-cloud deployments, Nicholas will be crucial to driving business growth.
Commenting on his appointment, Nicholas Smith said: “I’m honoured to lead Genetec’s operations in the UK and Ireland. While my appointment marks a new chapter, our commitment to our users, our channel and our partners remains unchanged. My focus is accelerating the growth of our SaaS offering, and ensuring we continue to predict and meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
Before joining Genetec, Nicholas served as Business Development Manager for MOBOTIX AG, a manufacturer of premium-quality intelligent IP video systems. He has also held senior positions at Bosch Security Systems and SISYS LTD (a UTC Company), where he spearheaded business development initiatives.
