Goffertstadion relies on Panomera® multifocal sensor system

Goffertstadion in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, relies on the Panomera® multifocal sensor technology to safeguard the guest and home fan sections.

Goffertstadion can hold approximately 12,500 spectators. The Dutch stadium uses only the most up-to-date video technology to guarantee the security of visitors and home fans. The Panomera® multifocal sensor technology watches over the stands.

Highest resolution in all areas
Unlike single-sensor cameras, multifocal sensor technology uses multiple sensors, each with a different focal length. This makes it possible for more remote areas to be shown with the same quality as objects close to the camera.

The high resolution was one of the reasons for selecting the Dallmeier technology. Stadium officials initially had a Panomera® demonstration unit installed for a home game of the NEC Nijmegen, in order to test the system thoroughly in a practical situation. No other system could come close to the resolution and image quality of Panomera®, even in areas at the edges there was no loss of image definition.

Intuitive operation with the Smavia Viewing Client
The images are recorded on a Smavia Enterprise storage server. The Smavia Viewing Client is available to the security personnel of Goffertstadion for viewing the images. In addition to the fast and intuitive display of live views, integrated functions provide support for an efficient analysis of the recordings.

The Smavia Viewing Client can be individually adapted to specific requirements. Dominique Aichorn, Security Manager explains:

“The split windows are flexible and we can compose their layouts any way we choose, without being confined to fixed formats such as 16:9 or 4:3. This enabled us to adapt the view precisely to our grandstands.”

Dominique Aichorn describes an additional advantage:

“We have a constant overall view of the entire scene and we can very easily zoom into the picture and pan across the entire grandstand without having to switch back and forth between multiple cameras.”

Unlike PTZ cameras, Panomera® always records the entire image, even if only a segment is being viewed live. The operator can therefore relax and do his job without missing anything.

“Intuitive operation was another crucial criterion for the decision to select the multifocal sensor technology”, says Dominique Aichorn.

Proved in practice
The safety officers of Goffertstadion are satisfied with their choice.

“The multifocal sensor technology has proved itself in practice”, comments Bart van Ingen, Managing Director of Goffertstadion. “The video system supports us in particular in the field of safety, security and hospitality and makes a visit to the stadium even more enjoyable for our guests.”
