New innovation, new technologies and a host of new companies at Infosecurity Europe 2017

  • 68 first time exhibitors in the show’s Discovery Zone
  • Infosecurity Europe to host the finalists in the UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company competition

Europe’s no.1 information security event, Infosecurity Europe, will showcase more new products and information security technologies than ever before when it opens its doors at Olympia, London next week.

Infosecurity Europe’s Discovery Zone is the dedicated area of the show that will see over 100 companies new to Infosecurity Europe to exhibit and showcase their innovative product and service solutions.  In addition, Infosecurity Europe’s UK Cyber Innovation Zone, sponsored by the Department of Culture, Media & Sport, is the area where visitors can meet the 14 companies who are the finalists in this year’s national competition to find the UK’s Most Innovative Small Cybersecurity Company of the Year.  The competition sees the 14 finalists receive a free stand at Infosecurity Europe and the opportunity to showcase their products and services in Thought Leadership presentations in the UK Cyber Innovation Showcase Theatre as part of their prize.

In addition, the top four companies from the 14 finalists will be pitching again in front of the Infosecurity Europe audience and an expert judging panel at the Keynote Stage theatre.  This year’s judging panel, chaired by Martin Chalmers, Managing Director, Aerospace Defence, Security & Technology, Atkins, comprises Eileen Burbidge, Partner, Passion Capital; David A Cass, Vice President & CISO, Cloud and SaaS Operational Services, IBM and Paul Crichard, CTO & Head of Technical Strategy, BT Security.  The four companies presenting on the day are:

  • CheckRecipient uses machine learning to automatically prevent highly sensitive information being sent to the wrong people over email. The CheckRecipient platform analyses historical email data in order to understand conventional sending patterns and behaviours in order to detect when emails are accidentally being sent to the wrong people or intentionally being sent to unauthorised accounts.
  • DynaRisk have created the world’s first personal cyber risk assessment platform. It gives users a personal risk score and a tailored action plan for the user to stay safe online.  It assesses a person’s risk using over 50 factors including vulnerability, router and data breach scanning, phishing simulation and questions
  • ImmersiveLabs have built a gamified and social platform that streams crowd-sourced cyber labs to technical users, enabling them to validate and improve practical cyber skills. Skills are measured and reported to the business’ management. Customers can also identify hidden talent and keep up with attackers, all from within the browser
  • iProove delivers secure online authentication using effortless, neural-network based face matching. Patented One Time Biometric Flashmark technology sustainably protects users from spoof and replay attacks and compromised devices. The unique interface presents users with an abstracted image of their face, guaranteeing a non-intrusive user experience, with continuity across all platforms and channels

Nicole Mills, Exhibition Director, Infosecurity Europe, said:

“We are delighted to once again be hosting a competition that champions innovation and new technologies and provides a platform for new companies to showcase their products to prospective buyers, partners and investors.  The pitch off in April was a fantastic event, that saw 20 companies go head-to-head for 14 finalist places and we are very excited to have these companies at Infosecurity Europe this year.  I am very much looking forward to the competition final that will see the top four companies take part in one final pitch off, and encourage as many of our exhibitors and visitors as possible to come along and support them on the day!”

The 14 companies were chosen from a longlist of 20 who took part in a pitch-off at Ernst & Young in April.  Dave Butler, from competition sponsor, Atkins, moderated the event, with the judging panel comprising Cate Pye (Ernst & Young), Paul Crichard (BT), Anthony Long (Bank of England), Gary Steel (Assurance & Information Security -UK Ministry of Defence), Eleanor Dalloway (Infosecurity Magazine) and Tim Mc Sweeney (The VTC Group).

The award launched in 2015 at Infosecurity Europe. The past winners of this award were Device Authority (2016) and Geolang (2015).

The UK’s Most Innovative Small Cybersecurity Company of the Year: Competition Final takes place at Infosecurity Europe, Keynote Stage, Wednesday 7th June, 12:55-13:55, Olympia, London.
