AMG Systems, the British manufacturer of sophisticated Megapixel cameras and CCTV transmission technology, and Vidiwave, leading manufacturer of Remote Managed Services for the Transport Sector have entered a technology partnership. The agreement means that AMG-Panogenics’ PanoCam360 is integrated with Vidiwave’s technology solutions for remote management into large commercial fleets in Bus, Haulage and Rail applications.
Dave Grattan, CEO of Vidiwave comments, “Vidiwave’s technology is specifically designed to deliver the power of remote management into large commercial fleets in Bus, Haulage and Rail applications, using 3G/WLAN/VPN wireless technology to back-up video evidence instead of manually changing removable HDD’s for each vehicle. In addition to mobile video and communications technology, we also provide fleet integration technology that collects and reports CANbus maintenance data and GPS tracking information to our on-line FMS ALERTING service. We have recently expanded our software UI to include support for 2, 3 and 5 mega Pixel IP cameras with a smart 360° de-warping technology using the AMG-Panogenics SDK. This will enable fleet managers to mix and match in-vehicle video technologies, with support for all 3 main formats (analogue, HD-SDI and IP) in ONE simple user interface. We use meta-data tags to link the CCTV video images to the GPS and G-Force data, helping companies investigate accidents, and enhance basic vehicle tracking maps with live video feeds from the vehicle, all via 3G. Everything is then linked to our internet cloud server, which allows fleet managers to instantly view, back-up and share information to insurance companies and/or police investigators without recalling the vehicle to depot.”
As a unique feature, Vidiwave’s wireless gateway includes AES256 bit VPN protection, making it ultra-secure and suitable for all government vehicle applications that may need to protect sensitive data. Apart from the increased security an encrypted VPN network provides, it also increases the data transfer rate by 30~40% because it has less dropped / crashed packets. In simple terms, by default it’s 40% faster than a non-VPN 3G or Wireless LAN network. When transferring or viewing large video files via 3G this is a KEY feature for fleet managers to add to their list of MUST haves.
Sara Bullock, International Sales & Marketing Director AMG Group said, “The Transport market has always been very important for AMG. We have an impressive client base in this sector for our transmission solutions and the AMG-Panogenics camera range is particularly well suited for applications where on-board CCTV surveillance is a requirement. I have no doubt that Vidiwave’s sophisticated technology solutions, in combination with our camera range, is a compelling market offering. I am delighted to announce this technology partnership and I note that we already have some very interesting projects in the pipeline.”
