The ASIS International UK Chapter raised in excess of £13,000 for two significant charities at its UK Police Charity Night on March 21.

Entitled Heroes’ Tribute, the event was hosted by Nomura and was organised by Andy Williams CPP and Crawford  Chalmers CPP.

The fundraising event was sponsored by Global Aware International and Ultimate Security Services, both of which covered all catering costs to ensure that the entire ticket price rose went straight to the two charities.

As part of the night’s celebration, a number of prizes were donated to be either raffled off or sold at an auction run by Andy Bignold.

All of the money raised at the event was split evenly between two charities, The Police Dependents’ Trust and the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund.

The Police Dependents’ Trust was set up in 1966 and offers support to police officers and their families in the event of an officer being killed or seriously incapacitated in the line of duty

The Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund, the world’s oldest police charity, supports the children of serving and former officers of the Metropolitan Police who are deceased or retired on pension due to incapacitation.

Lord Imbert and Commissioner Leppard from The City of London Police attended the charity event along with representatives from both of the charities.
