Curtain Outdoor Jeweller: the first line of defense against intrusion

Ajax Systems presents the Curtain Outdoor Jeweller. Imagine a house with a large backyard, a lovely garden, and much space for children to run around and play with pets. While this may be a dream for some, it presents a challenge for security professionals. Such a large area is more prone to intrusions and can be difficult to protect due to numerous false alarms and landscape features. It’s important to secure not only the property itself but also the approaches to the building, as these may become targets for burglars.

This is where Curtain Outdoor Jeweller comes in. This is a wireless curtain-type motion detector that delivers reliable perimeter protection with exceptional accuracy and a near-zero chance of false alarms. The device’s optical system has narrow viewing sectors and flexible settings. Any movement within the detection zone is analyzed to determine if the threat is real to activate an alarm. The detector’s IP55-protected enclosure withstands cold and heat, while its versatile installation options ensure the device fits various locations — from backyard fences to doorways and other entrances or exits of the guarded facility. Pre-installed batteries ensure up to 3 years of autonomous operation.

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller is a motion detector that protects the outer perimeter yet allows people to move freely within the protected area without triggering false alarms. It monitors an area up to 12 m long, with a horizontal viewing angle of 8° and a vertical viewing angle of 85°/15°. This outdoor detector is perfect for securing access points, such as passageways, fences, doors, and windows.

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller features dual motion detection technology. It uses two PIR sensors and one K-band microwave sensor to filter out false alarms caused by thermal noise, animals, or plants. The release of this detector strengthens the Ajax product portfolio, which already includes three curtain-type motion detectors with narrow viewing angles. With the new detector providing more installation options, assembling different sets for intrusion protection for each individual request and facility is now even easier.

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller has two PIR sensors that detect movement by sensing objects with temperatures close to that of a human body. When this happens, the device performs a radio wave (RF) scan with a K-band microwave sensor that filters out false alarms caused by thermal noise, animals, or plants. The microwave sensor is more precise than the traditional X-band sensor, energy-efficient, and safe for health. The detector only responds if both PIR and microwave sensors are triggered. When this happens, digital algorithms perform a signal analysis. They filter out natural interferences and animals to decide if an alarm should be raised.

SmartDetect software algorithm filters out thermal interferences when the system is in armed mode. It analyzes IR radiation intensity, thermal spot size, movement speed, and the time it spends in the detection zone to distinguish a human movement from a source of false alarms. Also, Curtain Outdoor Jeweller uses temperature compensation. The detector constantly analyzes the thermal diagram from the PIR sensors and compensates for temperature changes so that the detection is accurate even when the ambient temperature is close to the human body temperature.

Another way to minimize false alarms with Curtain Outdoor Jeweller is to use its flexible settings. Use a slider on the detector’s enclosure to adjust the detection range and operating mode. Other settings, including sensitivity, can be configured in the Ajax app. The settings help ensure that the device meets the needs of a particular site and rule out even more sources of false alarms.

Protecting the outdoor space is a difficult task. It is even more difficult to make sure that the rapid response unit arrives only in case of a real threat and avoid expensive false-alarm dispatches. Feel at ease knowing that Curtain Outdoor Jeweller detects intruders accurately thanks to the dual motion detection technology. When both PIR and microwave sensors are triggered, users and the security company will be immediately alerted about the potential danger. And they will not be bothered by trivial matters.
