Data centre specialist turns to Securiclad for security solutions

High security modular panel system manufacturer Securiclad is building on its success in the data centre market with the announcement of a new partnership with award-winning data centre and server room specialist INFINITI. North Tyneside-based Securiclad has revealed that is now supplying INFINITI, a data centre consultancy, construction and maintenance service provider operating across the UK and Europe, with its panel systems.

Securiclad’s products are used to create secure environments in sites including data centres, water utilities infrastructure installations, hazardous waste storage facilities, healthcare facilities, financial institutions and retail units. The panel systems, which have both internal and external applications, can be used to form a standalone ‘room’, kiosk or partition.

INFINITI, which is headquartered in Witney, Oxfordshire, chose to use Securiclad because of the product’s ease of installation, flexibility and its high security level certification, which means that it can be used to effectively protect areas containing servers and sensitive data.

Securiclad offers a security solution to Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175 Security Rating (SR) 4, which means that it is designed and manufactured to withstand determined attempts at forced entry with tools such as drills, jig saws, disc grinders and sledgehammers. It is also approved for Government use by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), which allows it to be used on Ministry of Defence and other Government sites.

Securiclad can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to an existing site, and is pre-finished, negating the need for wet trade requirements. It is also entirely bespoke and can be designed to specification.

INFINITI, which has worked with clients including ARM LTD, GCHQ and BT, has already successfully applied Securiclad’s modular panel systems to protect a data centre at a Ministry of Defence site.

Mike McColl, managing director of Securiclad, said:

“INFINITI has an established track record in the construction of server rooms, data centres and other technical environments, and we’re delighted that the company has chosen to offer Securiclad to its clients in cases where physical security is of prime importance. We’re looking forward to working with the company and helping to safeguard hardware and sensitive data from sabotage, burglary or terrorist attack.

“Our high security modular composite panel systems offer a flexible, easy-to-install solution for companies such as INFINITI, and we work closely with contractors to ensure that they have the training and support they need to create secure environments with Securiclad.”

Pete Sands, managing director of INFINITI, added:

“The Ministry of Defence data centre needed to conform to the very latest CPNI standards. We chose Securiclad because it had the required LPS security rating and ballistic testing certification.

“Securiclad’s in-house design team also offered our own design and installation engineers the technical support to ensure standards where adhered to, all throughout the construction phase. Now we are certified installers for Securiclad we will be offering this solution to all our clients and future projects.”

Securiclad, which is manufactured at a 46,000 sq ft facility in North Tyneside, is delivered across the UK and abroad. Securiclad can be offered as a turnkey solution, via approved and certified personnel or on a supply-only basis for contractors who prefer to install the system themselves.

Securiclad can also be supplied fully assembled as a smaller kiosk, guard hut or small storage space.
INFINITI provides complete end-to-end data centre design and construction solution and specialises in fast track installation solutions for new build design or refurbishment projects.
