Deadline for nominations to the 2016 Apprentice Installer Awards

As the deadline for nominations to the 2016 Apprentice Installer Awards draws closer, the British Security Industry Association is calling for security companies to recognise their outstanding apprentices.

Awarded by the BSIA, these esteemed awards give recognition to the very best emerging talent from the electronic security industry. Now in their sixteenth year, the awards also serve to acknowledge the commitment of security companies and training bodies in providing new talent with the opportunity to succeed in the security industry.

The deadline for nominations is the 18th April 2016. Nominations can be made for second and third year apprentices from security companies – including non-BSIA member companies – certified for their activities by a UKAS accredited certification body. Apprentices must be involved in the installation of alarms, CCTV, access control or a combination of these systems. The scheme is designed particularly for third year apprentices or outstanding second year apprentices.

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA, comments:

“Recognising the skills of our industry’s newest recruits is essential in encouraging them to commit to a long-term career in security. The awards enable us to ensure that their hard work, commitment to customer service and technological expertise are suitably rewarded.”

This year’s awards will be presented at the industry’s most prestigious event, the BSIA’s Annual Luncheon, which is set to take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Tuesday 12th July 2016. The awards are presented during a glittering event which is attended by some of the industry’s most influential figures.

The 2016 Apprentice Installer Awards are proudly sponsored by Eaton, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of security equipment for all types of commercial and residential premises. Tony Walsh, Vice President of Engineering and Business Leader at Eaton Security, commented:

“As a business, Eaton Security places a high priority on training and development and are therefore very proud to sponsor the Apprentice Installer Awards which recognise the achievements of installer apprentices.”

The BSIA would like to extend its thanks to Eaton Security for their support of this year’s awards.
