eHDF Seminar Highlights Rising Popularity of Remote Backup Solutions

eHosting DataFort (eHDF), the region’s leading managed hosting and cloud infrastructure services provider and member of TECOM Investments reiterated the benefits of critical data back-up and disaster recovery at a conference titled ‘Protect your Critical Data with Enterprise Class Managed Remote Backup Services’.

Seeking to highlight the growing importance and popularity of data back-up to an audience of CIO’s across small and large businesses in the UAE, eHDF conducted a survey to track Disaster Recovery and Remote Backup trends in the region. Among the findings of the survey, 67 percent of the respondents plan to invest in remote backup services in 2014, while 63 percent of the participants identified disaster recovery services as an imminent IT need. Additionally, 46 percent of those surveyed expressed concerns about emerging security issues, while 25 per cent found storage capacities inadequate for evolving data needs.

Commenting on the findings, Yasser Zeineldin, CEO, eHosting DataFort, said, “In view of the exponential data growth, industry sentiment clearly indicates that Backup as a Service (BaaS) is a priority today for regional IT professionals. In case of disasters, system errors or human errors, solutions such as Remote Backup can facilitate recovery processes. Organisations should ideally implement preventative Business Continuity Management (BCM) processes and comprehensive disaster recovery solutions within their organisation. Remote backup services can help them jump start their journey towards effective recovery solutions.”

Referring to the increasing security gaps within an organization’s IT landscape, Zeineldin added: “Businesses have evolved to become data-driven, and organizations can no longer afford to lose intelligence. Companies must put in place solid back-up plans to ensure business continuity in case of data losses – this adds to their resilience, responsiveness and reliability in the face of competition and in dealing with customers.”

eHDF’s Managed Remote Backup services offer an efficient and reliable system for daily back-up of critical information by maintaining two copies of such data – one locally at the customer’s premises and the other at a remote location via a secured network. The Remote Back-up service also features a management console, 24×7 monitoring of backup processes, regular offsite tape backup, as well as monthly reporting that provides customers with an end-to-end managed back-up service.

Remote Backup services help companies benefit from focusing on core business objectives rather than managing backup jobs and help avoid complexity of deploying and managing on premise data protection systems.

With world-class data centers, resilient and scalable infrastructure and round-the-clock managed operations, eHosting DataFort has established itself as a market leader in the field of managed hosting, Disaster Recovery and cloud infrastructure services.
