Elmdene International is striving to drive forward the company’s ambitious growth plans with the appointment of Hannah Broadhurst as business development manager. Broadhurst is ideally suited to this strategic position at Elmdene having already spent 11 years in the security sector, the last six focusing specifically on intruder products.
Looking in more detail at Broadhurst’s previous experience, she joins Elmdene from distributor Norbain SD Ltd where, latterly, as intruder business manager she was responsible for running Norbain’s Intruder Products Division. Broadhurst’s remit at Norbain included the management of Elmdene’s product portfolio, specifically PSUs (Power Supply Units), and promotion into the market. This background has provided Broadhurst with a strong appreciation of the competitive commercial environment in the security sector, technology trends and, crucially, changing customer requirements. Prior to her six years at Norbain, she was with manufacturer Europlex Technologies promoting integrated intruder and access control solutions, DVRs and IP video encoders.
Moving ahead, as an integral part of Elmdene’s senior management team reporting directly into the managing director, Broadhurst will be tasked with delivering the strategy required to expand Elmdene’s security and fire products business in new and existing markets across EMEA. A major focus is likely to be the building-up of Elmdene’s already significant market share in the UK – currently the company’s largest market – and the identifying of potential opportunities elsewhere, especially across mainland Europe.
