G4S has lost another director involved with the Olympic security fiasco. Mark Hamilton, who was head of Olympic security for the company, has left by mutual consent, the company says.
Hamilton was managing director of G4S Events and managing director of the Olympics operation.
Hamilton attended project management meetings with LOCOG and reported to David Taylor-Smith, group chief operating officer and regional chief executive officer for the UK and Africa. Taylor-Smith was the chair of the contract project board which had continuous project oversight.
Taylor-Smith and Ian Horseman Sewell, managing director, G4S Global Events resigned as a result of G4S’s Olympics contract failure.
Hamilton is a former bodyguard to Paul McCartney and founder of the Rock Steady Group of event security companies that was bought by G4S in 2008.
