Global MSC advances into the Digital Age in 2016
Global MSC’s annual conference, supported again by media partner SecurityNewsDesk, is now in their 11th year of industry-recognised educational seminars.
The event takes place on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th November 2016 at The Bristol Hotel in Bristol city centre. This year looks at Advances in Security in the Digital Age, and is shaping up to be a highly informative event, with high profile speakers and a varied programme to look forward to.
While the programme order is yet to be announced, there is an exciting line-up of speakers already confirmed.
The keynote speakers for the day is DCI Mick Neville, Metropolitan Police and Dr Josh Davis, Senior Lecturer, University of Greenwich who will be discussing operational use of super-recognisers.
The rest of the day will focus on a variety of elements looking at the future of technology in the security industry and the speakers will be talking about topics ranging from Professor Kamal Bechkoum, Head of School of Computing and Technology, University of Gloucestershire, looking at Cyber Security, and Simon Gordon, Chairman of Facewatch, discussing facial recognition techniques that can be used to fight crime. Tony Porter, Surveillance Camera Commissioner, will be joining us again on stage with further information about the new National Surveillance Camera Strategy.
Dominic Cross will be looking ahead at the use of drones (UAVs) in a security and policing environment and the countermeasures for drones invading secure space, and Rachel Doyle from Luton Borough Council will be describing her experiences of using Body Worn Video in a local authority setting.
All will take the stage independently and the day will conclude with a Q&A panel discussion, on which we are delighted to welcome Renate Samson, Chief Executive, Big Brother Watch.
A strong focus of these annual events is for Global MSC Security to raise money for a chosen charity at the Monday night gala dinner. Last year we raised £1,500 for Movember and this year we will be supporting Children’s Hospice South West.
Derek Maltby, MD of Global MSC Security says:
“Last year we made the second presentation of the Gordon McLanaghan Security Innovation Award in conjunction with Security News Desk. We are now accepting nominations for this prestigious trophy and £1,000 cash prize.”
