Global MSC Security have announced the appointment of Andy Williams as a Senior Security Consultant. A technical expert with more than 40 years’ experience working with alarms, CCTV and integrated security systems in both the public and private sectors, Andrew will support and grow Global MSC Security’s impressive customer-base, as well as expand its offering, protecting businesses and safeguarding communities throughout the UK.
Commencing his new role on 1 March, Andy joins Global MSC Security from CDS Integrated Security Systems and GEM Security Services where he was Managing Director for six years. He began his career in the security industry in 1980 with Contact Alarms, before joining Willow Intruda Security Systems as Technical Director. In 2004, he took the role of Operations Director at CDS, significantly growing both its engineering team and turnover.
Derek Maltby, Managing Director, MSC Security, states: “Andy has been providing services to many of Global MSC Security’s clients for almost 20 years. As part of our expanded team he brings with him a wealth of technical and operational experience that will help take the company to the next level, servicing the needs of local authorities, and extending our capabilities beyond public space surveillance.”
Commenting on his appointment, Andy Williams, says: “My first interaction with Global MSC Security came in 2005 when we successfully responded to a project tender. Since this time, I have been constantly impressed by the high regard in which Derek and the team are held. Their close relationship with many of the market-leading vendors enables them to keep pace with technology innovation and to match solutions with evolving needs of public space surveillance.”
Andy adds: “Today, CCTV in these settings focuses more on proactive monitoring, which is made challenging by UK weather, lighting conditions and the physical distance between cameras and the subject. It is for this reason that the technology infrastructure needs to be exceptional. This is where I can help, by mapping these requirements into a tender specification that in turn delivers the right technology at the right price to meet current and future needs.”
