Global MSC is building on the success of 2014

Global MSC’s annual conference, supported again by media partner SecurityNewsDesk and once more sponsored by BT Redcare Surveillance, is celebrating their 10th Anniversary of educational seminars.

The event takes place on 9th & 10th November 2015 at The Bristol Hotel in Bristol City Centre. This year looks at Technology and Innovation in the Security Industry, and is shaping up to be the most informative since the events began, with high profile speakers and a varied programme to look forward to.

The day begins with opening keynote speaker Mark Bates, National Police Chiefs’ Council, Lead for the development of CCTV in Policing. Other speakers include, Andy Marsh, Chief Constable, Hampshire Constabulary, Tony Porter; Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Emma Carr; Big Brother Watch, and Dr Tim Brain, Former Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary. They will all be taking to the stage independently, followed by a Q&A panel discussion surrounding the various aspects that security and technology play from an operational and legal point of view.

Part of the day will focus on Body Worn Video and Drones, with Simon Hall, MD of Heli-Media looking at A helicopter view of technology for security, the use of airborne assets for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ISR, and Re-inventing the Police Box for the digital era, using technology to improve Business Productivity in security.

Metropolitan Police, Strategic Firearms Commander, Superintendent Ian Hackett will be talking about the use of Body Worn Video in Armed Policing and the tactical use of Body Worn Video Cameras in firearms incidents.

Drawing on the academic research, Professor William Webster from the University of Stirling will inform the audience about the rise of SMART CCTV Technology, and also Bristol City Council and a former Avon and Somerset Constabulary Detective Chief Inspector talks to us about Intelligence and the deployment and operation of ANPR technology around the city for both journey times and police intelligence purposes.

However, Global MSC Security focuses on more than just security. Last year the Gala Dinner on the Monday evening raised over £2,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice and Above & Beyond. This year we aim to raise even more supporting Movember a global charity raising funds and awareness for men’s health. Global MSC challenges all attendees to “grow their best, ladies included!”

Derek Maltby, MD of Global MSC Security says “Last year we launched the Gordon McLanaghan Security Innovation Award 2015 in conjunction with SecurityNewsDesk and this year we are accepting nominations for this prestigious trophy and £1,000 cash prize”.
