Rida Hamza, Regional Manager of Honeywell, has shared his thoughts on Intersec 2014 in the latest in SecurityNewsDesk’s series of interviews with the exhibitions leading participants.

How long has Honeywell been participating in Intersec and how have you seen the event grow and change over the years?

Honeywell has participated at Intersec for many years now. It has grown considerably, with more participants every year and is a key platform for customers to gain a greater understanding of all of the latest innovative safety and security products and solutions in the market.

Why do you think the exhibition has become such a leading light in the industry?

Intersec is the one of the region’s largest safety and security shows, which addresses all of the industry verticals and markets. With the high growth and investment in the region, these types of shows are vital for fruitful exchanges between technology providers and customers/users to identify potential for growth, and where our products and solutions can be applied in the market. It also provides us with a real opportunity to meet our existing customers and also new prospects face to face.

What unique opportunities does Intersec offer Honeywell?

Intersec is a great way to kick off the new year, with the mindset to fulfil the needs of the local market.  It gives us the opportunity to showcase our latest technologies and initiatives for the coming year. We can drive brand awareness and our product portfolio with regional decision makers and business leaders who attend the show.

What do you think are the top issues, challenges or talking points in the industry at the moment, and what do you think an exhibition like Intersec 2014 will contribute to these?

There’s a major focus on IP CCTV and the benefits that it brings. Seamless integrated security systems are vital for today’s security business – from small-medium size to large multinationals – due to the major technical and business benefits that they bring. Honeywell, is a world leader in integrated solutions, connectivity and convenience in usage are also real areas of interest and discussion, and comprise future growth drivers in the region. Intersec enables information and idea sharing.

What product that you are demonstrating in January are you the most excited about?

This year we are demonstrating our extended ONVIF-compliant IP camera range.. There will also be Cloud hosted video solutions, such as Honeywell’s MAXPRO® Cloud, this allows organizations to access their video surveillance systems anywhere there is an Internet connection. We will also be introducing our latest intrusion technology that would enable the Smart Home solutions . And we will also show our newest version of the Pro-Watch® security management system with seamless integration between safety and security systems. and its web based monitoring solutions. This enables large enterprises to implement one solution that improves security, reducing risk and increasing peace of mind.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2014 event?

The most exciting thing about being at Intersec is meeting and speaking with customers, gaining a greater understanding of their challenges and needs, and helping them by prescribing the right solutions to suit their requirements.
