The London 2012 Olympics have finally arrived and as we all get into the spirit of the Games, Human Recognition Systems (HRS) is proud to have helped secure the Olympic Park for the past four years with the largest and most robust biometric solution of its kind in the world today, MSite.
Combining the latest developments in biometric identification, card-level encryption and cloud-based technology, HRS delivered a total identity management and access control solution, safeguarding the construction of the Olympic Park and Athletes Village in preparation for the Games.
Delivering the large scale solution across a constantly changing landscape was a significant undertaking, which required MSite to operate at levels of security and scale never seen before. This led to the evolution of the MSite platform bringing new capabilities to Human Recognition Systems’ existing high profile construction customers such as Lend Lease, BAM and Carillion. With its primary role of protecting the Olympic Park, MSite also helped enable the safest construction at any Olympics before it.
Utilising hand geometry and iris recognition templates fused together on a single smartcard, MSite has managed over 30 million transactions to date with 81,000 people currently enrolled on the system. This has positioned MSite as the number one Enterprise level biometric workforce and site security management platform in the world.
Chief Executive of Human Recognition Systems, Neil Norman commented “As a British company, I am extremely proud to have our technology play it’s part in protecting the Olympic Park over the past 4 years. It is the biggest system in the world protecting the biggest event in the world and that’s something to be proud about. We wish every Olympian well, but we especially wish the GBR team well.”
