Situational awareness enhancement owing to IDIS’ HE-1101 Video Encoder leads to position in Benchmark Innovation Awards 2018

IDIS’ HE-1101 Video Encoder has been acknowledged for its innovative situational awareness, leading the surveillance experts to take the position of finalist in the 2018 Benchmark Innovation Awards.

Increased security control, optimal monitoring and enhanced situational awareness are just some of the factors that led the HE-1101 Video Encoder to be noted by judges as a technology that closes security gaps within the surveillance industry.

The Benchmark Innovation Awards annual award scheme focuses on security product innovations that deliver advantages to installers and their customers. Judges were impressed by the way IDIS’s HE-1101 technology provides a cost-effective route to increased security control, optimal monitoring and enhanced situational awareness.

IDIS is a global security company that designs, develops, manufactures, and delivers surveillance solutions for a wide range of commercial and public sector markets. As the largest video surveillance manufacturer in South Korea, headquartered just outside of Seoul, and operating across 50 countries and 100+ strategic partners, IDIS is a world-leading total solution provider with more than two million recorders installed worldwide and over 16.5 million cameras utilising IDIS technology.

The HE-1101 product offering allows operators to oversee multiple applications all from a single monitor by connecting hardware that has a VGA or HDMI output. Subsequently, as businesses grow or adapt to evolving threats, the innovative encoder allows the operator to manage everything — including video, access control, building management, intruder, fire and point of sale (PoS) systems — from a single user interface. Users can choose from the option of totally license free video management software (VMS), IDIS Center, or the advanced and modular, enterprise-level IDIS Solution Suite.

User-friendly, the HDMI/VGA output is displayed and recorded exactly as a camera within the fully-functional IDIS VMS options. It allows operators remote mouse and keyboard control of integrated applications. This eliminates the need for expensive and complex integration -— and constant updates to interfaces — which are often associated with security management systems. It benefits installers through fast implementation and maintenance and delivers IDIS’s signature low total cost of ownership for end users.

James Min, Managing Director, IDIS Europe, welcomed the Benchmark Innovation Awards shortlisting, saying it was the result of continual focus on innovation that benefits customers. “I am delighted at this latest recognition of our mission to innovate. The HE-1101 is another great example of IDIS pushing at technical boundaries in order to improve product design and put more control in the hands of our users.”
