Local security team unafraid to ‘go the extra mile’

A team of security officers have emerged victorious in the regional judging rounds of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Security Personnel Awards, winning the accolade for Best Team.

The ITV team from security company Wilson James consists of four team leaders and twenty one security officers. The team comprises a diverse workforce in terms of experience, ranging from three months to over twenty three years, speaking over twelve different languages.

The team has effectively protected and assisted colleagues, visitors and contractors and makes ITV studios secure and safe 365 days a year. With ITV filming some of the UK’s biggest television shows, VIP security is another aspect of this team’s responsibilities.

Working closely around events that make ITV studios a hub of activity such as the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, the security team have shown great dedication and enthusiasm. The culture is one which encourages support and respect and this has been demonstrated by officers going the extra mile to cover extra duties at short notice time after time.

The team fully embrace the culture and values of ITV and have become part of the family. ITV has a goal of making the building an easier place to work and Wilson James have enhanced and developed this concept with the enthusiasm and professionalism within the team.

Upon hearing of their win, Mohamed Hoggui, the Wilson James Site Coordinator commented, “I am so pleased the team here at ITV have received the recognition they deserve. They are a thoroughly hard-working and dedicated group of professionals whose passion and love for the job is evident in the service they provide. We have a brilliant relationship with ITV and the support we receive from them enables us to deliver an outstanding service.”

The team will now be put forward to the national judging phase of the awards. If they are successful in the second round of judging, they will then be invited to attend the BSIA’s annual lunch on July 15th where they will be presented with the national award.

These esteemed awards are currently in their seventeenth year – having been sponsored by Camberford Law since their inception – and serve to acknowledge the successes of those working within the security industry.

The BSIA would also like to thank Camberford Law plc – specialist insurance brokers to the security industry – for their continued support.
