New girls football team is on a roll after netting kit sponsor

An all-new schoolgirls football team has gone on a winning streak after landing a sponsorship deal with Plymouth-based Securi-Guard Fire and Security. The South West’s largest independent fire and security specialist has provided the team strips for Horrabridge Rangers Under 12s – and it certainly seems to have brought them some good fortune.
The girls have won their first seven games in the Devon Junior Minor League and currently sit eight points clear at the top of their league. Individual performances have been impressive too. Six of the top 15 players in the division come from Horrabridge Rangers and in the list of leading goal scorers, three of the team’s players are in the top five.
Evelyn Bray heads the list with 17 goals, while her team mates Jana Cole and Lily Hilton have five apiece. Lily’s father James Hilton, who coaches the girls, is hoping the team’s excellent form will continue.
“They have made an excellent start, considering they have only just starting playing together so fingers crossed they can keep the momentum going,” said James. “I cannot thank Securi-Guard enough for providing the team kits. It is really helpful as we have only just formed the club and are finding our feet.”
James approached Scott Boyd, Managing Director – Securi-Guard Fire and Security, asking if it would be possible for the business to support the new team. He was happy to help, particularly as he has a special interest in the team – his daughter Rebecca, aged 10, is a defender who sometimes plays in attack.
“James is a really committed to the new club and works incredibly hard coaching the girls, helping them to improve,” said Scott. “As a family business, proud of our Plymouth heritage, we like to support grass roots sports when we can and it is great in this particular situation that we can help a club that’s just starting out.”
